Each local group runs meetings and coffee mornings on a regular basis. Our meetings are informal and give you a chance to share your experiences of mothering. They are a great way to meet other mums in your area. You can attend meetings run by any or all of our groups, regardless of where you live.
There is no cost to attend meetings, but we hope that if you decide to keep coming, you will subscribe and enjoy the others benefits that subscription provides — a free copy of our comprehensive book Breastfeeding… naturally, our bimonthly magazine Essence, a 10% discount on purchases at our online store www.mothersdirect.com.au and reduced breast pump hire rates.
Babies and children are welcome at our meetings as are your support people, your partner, mother or friend.
A small plate of morning tea to share would be appreciated if you have the time, but if you find you don’t have anything to bring, don’t let it stop you coming.
Please phone the host prior to the meeting for venue details.
Some parents and friends find that they are nervous about coming to one of our meetings for the first time. They are usually worried that everyone will know each other and be good friends. We usually have new faces at our meetings, and these new faces usually come back again because they find the friendly atmosphere worth returning to, and enjoy being able to talk about their baby with other mums. So, if you are thinking of coming or need contact with other parents, please come. We’re sure you will find friendly faces and feel welcome and want to come back again and again.
